The "Access Code" game allows you to organise a competition with an additional control filter based on a list of codes that you import directly into the Kimple platform.
For example, a competition can be proposed with an obligation to buy in shop, by delivering to each customer a private code on the receipt to access the game from your website.
The access code is also a page element or a form field.
This element allows you to apply an access restriction to each new competition inspired by an application in the catalogue, using a list of codes pre-registered in the platform. It is therefore either a full-fledged application, or a single complementary page in a complete contest (example: home page + form with access code + instant win)
How to configure your game simply?
If you have chosen the "Access code" mechanism, you will find it on a dedicated page
Otherwise it will be present on the form:
Or as a page element
As soon as a field of type "access code" is present on your page or your form. You can edit it.
You can also move the code entry field as you wish.
By clicking on the edition of your field, you access a configuration menu with 3 different sections: a general tab, the list of access codes and finally the moderation of your codes integrated in the application.
The first menu of the general tab offers you to import the list of your access codes via a .csv file that you enter in the platform.
Then, you determine directly in Kimple, whether a code is unique or not by checking the box provided for this purpose.
You can also make the codes case sensitive.
What does this mean? When a participant enters the code, the system will authenticate the code whether it is entered in upper or lower case. If this option is not checked, the system will only allow codes whose root is correctly entered in the application.
Finally, customise the moderation messages when the code is entered, with a validation message or a failure message if the code is refused on entry.
The "Access code" tab allows you to have an overview of all the codes imported into the application. You will be able to determine the total number of imported access codes, the number of codes still available from the application and finally the number of access codes already used and filled in by your participants.
Finally, the application provides our customers with a last field called moderation. This menu allows you to check whether a code has been used by a participant and to identify the owner of the code entered in the application. This functionality will allow you to check the security of the code sent for each participant and also to moderate all your codes by checking the suspicious and probable behaviour of your participants. Thus, by entering the code in the field provided for this purpose, the account information associated with this code will be displayed.
The choice of an access code field on one of the games is effective if you want to deploy a store-to-web operation.
One of our clients, BRICE, used the potential of this application to offer a competition with a purchase obligation. On each receipt, an access code was delivered to each customer, inviting them to participate in a competition on the customer's official Facebook page.
Scratch-off tickets were issued at the checkout and each participant was able to participate in a winning moment by entering their personal code.
The place of your access code on a game is crucial.
Here are the different cases you may encounter.
The code is before the form.
The user arrives and has no code, he is blocked.
The user has a code, uses it and does not fill in the form
--> His code will already be used even if he did not fill in the form, there may be complaints if the participant returns to play.
The code is after the form.
The user enters their details but does not have a code -> They may complain that they have entered their details without being able to play and without being warned.
The user enters their details but does not have a code -> They may still have won as the instant win is triggered by clicking on the "validate" button on the form. So the gift is distributed but the person has not entered his code and has not seen the winning page.
Warning: If an email is sent, even without a code, the person will receive a winning email.
The code is on the form.
This is the best solution in terms of security.
But the user will have to fill in the form each time he/she comes back to enter a new code.
-> In this case, never activate the option "Enable automatic form completion if the participant has already registered" in the "Legal" section.
-> An option allows you to recognise your users and to pre-fill the form without passing it. You have to go to your account, in "My settings" and click on "Activate the auto-filling of the form with the participants' data" (this will be the case for all your next or current games)
