How to set up access codes?

Written by Elsa Fernandes

Access codes allow you to control access to a game using codes that are defined or generated by the platform.

Summary

  1. Add access codes to a form

  2. Automatically generate access codes

  3. Import access codes

  4. View and export access codes

  1. Add access codes to a form

To get started, add the “Access Code” field to your form.

When configuring access codes, two options are available:

  • Automatically generate codes from the platform;

  • Import your own codes from a CSV file.

Additionally, from the form settings, you can customize the error messages associated with the access code fields, particularly for “invalid code” and “code already used” cases.

2. Automatically Generate Access Codes

The platform can automatically generate access codes based on the settings you define.

In particular, you can configure:

  • The number of codes to generate;

  • The length of the codes;

  • The format of the codes;

  • A prefix and/or suffix;

  • The case of the characters, choosing to use only lowercase or only uppercase letters.

This option allows you to quickly generate a set of codes tailored to your needs.

3. Import Access Codes

If you already have your own codes, you can import them using a CSV file.

Note: For the import to be valid, the CSV file must include a header row.

Once the file has been imported, you can view the added codes directly from the platform.

4. View and export access codes

After they have been created or imported, you can view the access codes that have been added.

You can also export the access codes in CSV format to save them to a file.

You can delete all the codes at once or delete them individually, for example, if there is an error. In addition, you can edit the codes directly from the summary list.

💡 Best practice: During the acceptance testing phase, test several access codes to verify that they are recognized correctly, that codes that have already been used are properly blocked, and that error messages are displayed as expected.
