  1. Introduction to the Game

The Battle is a game that lets you compare your products side by side. Gather all the opinions and preferences of your audience.

2. Game Pages

Click the “Create a Campaign” button to access our game catalog and select the battle game.

First, you’ll need to set the name of your campaign, the language, the publication dates, the description, and the highlight before you can access your game’s course.

In journey mode, you’ll find a predefined path with the following pages:

  • Single Page (Home)

  • Single Page (Form)

  • Battle Page

  • Post-Participation Page

Of course, you can rename the page titles and change their order.

3. Game configuration

With Kimple, you'll be able to customize the appearance of every element that makes up your battle. By logging in to the back office and going to your customization area, you can edit the app module. From the side menu on the right, you can access various configuration options.

Tip💡 You can create multiple battle pages. To do this, simply add a new “Simple Page,” then insert a Battle element into it. You can then configure the battles independently on each page.

⚠️ Important: When adding a question to a battle game, you must use the “Battle Question” element not the “Text” element. This ensures that the question appears correctly in the exports and makes it easier to analyze the responses.

a) General Battle Settings

You can set a delay between each battle displayed on the page by entering the maximum number of seconds which will serve as the transition time between two battles in the field provided for this purpose.

You can also specify the page to which the participant will be redirected after casting their vote.

Regarding customization, you have the option to enable the display of results as percentages. When this option is disabled, results are displayed as whole numbers.

You can also choose whether or not to display the titles of the images associated with each choice or answer to provide participants with more context.

You must customize the image used for the voting module to match your brand’s visual style.

The voting buttons are fully customizable. You can change the font, border color and thickness, the degree of corner rounding, and the text color.

After each vote, the participant sees the overall voting results directly on the selected image. You can customize this indicator by changing its color, display size, and font using the built-in style editor.

b) Configuring Questions and Battles

To add or edit a question, simply double-click the question item in the battle displayed on the page. You can then enter the content of your question directly into the editor.

If there are multiple battles on the same page, be sure to customize each question so that it corresponds to the associated battle.

Next, you can configure the battles. To create a new battle, click the settings button (represented by a gear icon). You can then define the various elements of your battle and customize how it works.

An editing window will then appear, allowing you to configure your battles. From the list of battles on the left, you can add multiple battles by clicking the “+” button. You can then customize each one individually.

To add responses to a battle, start by selecting the relevant battle from the list of battles. You can then configure the various responses associated with that battle.

For each battle, two answers are provided by default. To expand the options for a battle, simply click the “Add an option” button and add as many answers as needed.

For each answer, you can customize its content by adding a title and an image. The title will be displayed on the page if you have enabled the option to show titles. The image associated with the answer will be used as the visual representation of the option presented to the participant.

⚠️ The title is required. It helps correctly identify responses in data exports and makes it easier to analyze the results.

The images for the different options must be configured separately for desktop and mobile versions to ensure optimal display on each type of device.

Once your battles are set up, you can preview how each battle will appear directly on the page by clicking the eye icon next to the answers.

This preview allows you to verify that the question is correctly linked to the corresponding comparison and that the various answer choices are displayed as expected.

4. Configuring the Statistics Page (optional)

On the Statistics page, you can add a chart to display the results of a battle. This chart gives participants a clear overview of the votes cast for each option.

Tip 💡You can create multiple statistics pages within your journey. To do this, add a new “Simple Page,” then insert a graph into it. You can then link each graph to a specific battle to display the results of different confrontations on separate pages.

From the control panel on the right, simply select the battle you want to link to the graph to automatically display the corresponding data.

You can then customize the chart’s appearance by choosing its display type: bar graph or pie graph

You also have the option to display the values directly on the graph. If you activate the “Show as percentages” option, the results will be presented as percentages. Otherwise, the values will be displayed as whole numbers.

For bar graphs, you can set their orientation and choose between vertical and horizontal display. For pie graph, you can select the desired format, with a solid or ring (outline) design.

Finally, you can customize the colors associated with each response to ensure the graph aligns with your brand identity and makes the results easier to read.

You can add variables to a single page or in an email campaign to remind participants of the choice they made for each battle. To do this, use the corresponding variable in the following format: {{participation.battle_id battle}}.

When the page is displayed or the email is sent, this variable will automatically be replaced with the answer the participant chose for that battle.

💡 Best Practice

If you set up multiple battles within the same event, make sure each question is clearly associated with its corresponding battle to avoid any confusion for participants.
