  1. Introduction to the Game

Match 3 is a game inspired by “Candy Crush,” where the goal is to eliminate as many objects as possible by creating matching combinations to increase your score.

2. Game Pages

Click the “Create a Campaign” button to access our game catalog and select the Match 3 game.

You’ll first need to set the name of your campaign, the language, the publication dates, the description, and the time zone before you can access your game’s course.

In journey mode, you’ll see a predefined path with the following pages:

  • Single Page (Home)

  • Single Page (Form)

  • Match 3 game Page

  • Post-Participation Page

Of course, you can rename the page titles and change their order.

3. Game configuration

With Kimple, you'll be able to customize the look and feel of every element in your match 3 game. In your design area, you can edit the page. From the side menu on the right, you can access various configuration options.

First, you’ll be asked to set a maximum number of rows for displaying your objects. The game engine includes a hint animation in case the user is unable to find new combinations: you can set the timing for this animation to trigger by selecting the duration.

In addition, you'll be able to manage the number of points awarded for each correct alignment and type of redirect either by page or by points once the game is over.

Regarding point-based redirection, you can add a score range and choose the redirect page for each configured range.

You can customize your game's background image to a size of 600 × 600 px.

You'll also need to customize the 5 types of pieces that will make up your game pieces (size 150 × 150 px).

For each type of piece, you can set an associated bonus image (150 × 150 px). When a player lines up 5 consecutive pieces, a special bonus is triggered. You can customize the bonus image that applies to all pieces (150 × 150 px). This image is required, otherwise, the default image will be used.

Finally, you can customize several optional graphic elements to enhance the gaming experience:

  • the background image for the pieces (200 × 200 px);

  • the image displayed when a tile is selected (100 × 100 px);

  • the image for the visual effect used to animate in-game actions (50 × 50 px).

These elements are optional but allow you to add more customization and dynamism to your game.

4. Configuring Additional Elements: Timer and Score

In addition to the Match 3 game, you can configure two other elements on the page: Timer and Score.

For the score, you can choose to display either the current score or the high score on the page.

Tip 💡You can easily insert two score elements to display the participant's best score and current score on the same page.

With the timer, you can set the game duration in minutes and/or seconds. There is an option that allows you to display the timer in seconds on the page if you have set the duration in minutes.

Finally, you can choose the timer's style whether you want to display it as a counter or a circular timer.

Best practice 💡Before going live, test your game on desktop and mobile to ensure that pieces move smoothly and that touch interactions work correctly on all devices.
