1. Introduction to the Game

The difference game is a fun activity that pairs two images, one of which contains hidden differences that your participants must find as quickly as possible.

2. Game Pages

Click the “Create a Campaign” button to access our game catalog and select the Difference game.

You’ll first need to set the name of your campaign, the language, the publication dates, the description, and the highlight before you can access your game’s course.

In journey mode, you’ll find a predefined path with the following pages:

  • Single page (Home)

  • Single page (Form)

  • Differences game page

  • Post-participation page

Of course, you can rename the page titles and change their order.

3. Game configuration

Using Kimple, you'll be able to customize the appearance of every element in your difference game. In your design area, you can edit the page. From the side menu on the right, you can access various configuration options.

In the game settings, you can set the number of points earned for each difference found, as well as the number of points lost for each difference missed.

You can activate the display of points on the game page and customize the appearance of this element.

Finally, you can configure a redirect based either on the page or on points and choose the redirect page when the participant reaches a certain number of points.

Regarding point-based redirection, you can add a score range and choose the redirect page for each configured range.

Next, customize your game’s visuals:

  • The game’s background image can be either an image that combines the reference image and the image containing the differences, or just the image in which participants must find the differences. In the latter case, you can add the reference image using an image element.

  • You can also add images for the markers indicating found and unfound differences.

The difference zones are configured based on the background image. To access them, open the pop-up window using the settings button on the image.

You can mark and isolate areas of difference directly on the image.

In the editing area, the defined areas will appear in red.

The desktop and mobile versions must be configured separately.

4. Configuring Additional Elements: Timer and Score

In addition to the difference mechanics, you can configure two other elements on the page: the timer and the score.

For the score, you can choose to display either the current score or the high score on the page.

Tip 💡You can easily insert two score elements to display the participant's best score and current score on the same page.

With the timer, you can set the game duration in minutes and/or seconds. There is an option that allows you to display the timer in seconds on the page if you have set the duration in minutes.

Finally, you can choose the timer's style whether you want to display it as a counter or a circular timer.

Best practice💡 Before publishing your campaign, test each highlight area on desktop and mobile to ensure they are easily noticeable and properly positioned for each device.
